I've been messing around with MediaPortal on my XP machine and it hasn't been without trouble - let me tell you. Problems so far are:
- Aspect ratio (wrong for 4:3 channels)
- Channel changing (slow, and causing timeshift)
- EPG setup and configuration (how?)
- Decoding BBC HD (can I?)
But the good news is that it is getting there. I've managed to solve some of the above with fidding and constant uninstalling MP and re-installing... Very strange thing to do, but it seems to work! I will post the reasons when I find why things fix themselves!
MP Tip: The secret about MediaPortal is all about the PLUG-INs! To make MP really work, you need to download, configure and install the plug-ins!
